About the contrarian

Most of the good strategies are already commonly accepted.

Good strategies are usually grounded in good common sense.

But many strategies loose value because all adopt them.

A good strategy becomes bad if it is a common strategy.

A contrarian philosophy is that he is comfortable doing OPPOSITE of what others are doing.

A contrarian must not be a contrarian unless he is comfortable in his skin because it takes self-esteem.

At many times, the advantage of being a contrarian are clear: if all poker chaps are aggressive, the contrarian reduces his bleed and increases his scoops. if all are passive, he increases small pickings by being agressive.

a contrarian lets a strategy be commonly adopted before taking the other direction.

Customs

It is difficult to understand that why would one go through the trouble to lie. The simplicity of lie is quite despicable. And so is adherence to customs. When it is far more superior to disdain them.

One kind of people are so afraid, born in poverty, that they follow customs out of fear.

Others follow it to have friends.

Still others follow it with mock jest.

Yet others follow them for form, order.

Therefore one must have healthy respect for customs. Awareness of customs is important and in trading these become patterns :-)

At the same time, it does not raise any query in A's passport wven though in his passport as well, his spouse appears with her own maiden name.

A finally gets his passport and B's passport is still under 'scrutiny'.

Then B uses A's passport to point out that they are married and gets her passport.
